VOTING - THE RESULT
As soon as the prescribed eight minutes voting time has
elapsed, the lobby doors are closed, and no further
members are allowed in. Once the numbers voting each
way are known, the Tellers line up in front of the Table
of the House, and the Senior Teller on the winning side
announces the result. The result is always known just
before the announcement, as the Senior Teller for the
winning side stands on the right. The Speaker then confirms
the result with the words 'So the Ayes (or Noes) have it'. In the
case of a tie, the Speaker has a deciding vote.
